Pre-Purchase Surveys
A Pre-Purchase Survey is considered one of the most comprehensive marine surveys. The surveyor will inspect every facet of the vessel without a tear down. The general condition and overall operation of the vessel will be examined in detail. The survey includes an out of water inspection (haul out), sea trial, and inspection of all onboard systems including electrical, propulsion, fuel, navigation, and more.
Pre-Purchase Surveys typically involve three major steps.
- Static in water inspection
- Haul out to inspect the underbody
- Sea trial
Insurance Surveys
Sometimes referred to as a “Condition & Valuation” survey, Insurance Surveys are performed to determine whether a vessel is an acceptable risk prior to being insured. Most insurance companies will require a survey on older boats to determine its condition and fair market value.

Cargo Surveys

Damage Surveys
Damage Surveys are performed to determine and document the nature, extent, and likely cause of damage to a vessel. Damage Surveys are typically requested by insurance companies and owners during the insurance damage claim process.
We will help determine the scope of the damage, create a repair plan, and perform a follow up as the repairs are completed.
